Soft skills are in demand in this 21st Century workforce and college environment. Whether a student plans to attend college, join the military, or enter the workforce after high school, learning soft skills will improve their marketability and likelihood to succeed.

Director Shawn Wright-Browner launched J. Everett Light Career Center’s new Soft Skills Program in 2015. Soft skills training was embedded in all JELCC Career-Technical Education classes.  Now, to further support students as they develop these valuable skills, JELCC is offering a Soft Skills Program each year.  In this program, all CTE teachers will immerse soft skills curriculum into their lessons.  During this year’s Soft Skills Program launch, Mrs. Wright-Browner facilitated a series of activities that motivated students to begin developing their personal skills on how to interview, write resumes, talk to clients and present themselves to customers.  If you would like additional information about this program, please feel free to contact Director Wright-Browner at 317-259-5265 x 44049, [email protected].
