In this blog, we will explore the concept of educational leadership using the iconic phrase “Silenzio, Bruno!” from one of my favorite Disney-Pixar movies, Luca. The film Luca takes us on a journey to the Italian Riviera, where we meet a young sea monster named Luca and his best friend, Alberto. The phrase “Silenzio, Bruno!” is said by Alberto to Luca when they are about to test their homemade Vespa off a cliff. Luca is extremely nervous, but Alberto assures him not to listen to the “Bruno in his head.” The phrase means to silence (Silenzio) your inner negative voice (Bruno) and support yourself to make decisions that make your heart happy.
