David Robertson

David Robertson serves as the Assistant Superintendent/Chief Academic Officer for Warsaw Community Schools.  Robertson is a Warsaw native and a 1999 graduation of Warsaw Community High School.  After high school, Robertson attended Grace College in Winona Lake, IN where he received his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (Class of 2003).

Robertson taught 4th grade at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School in Indianapolis, IN for the Metropolitan School District of Perry Township from 2003-2005.  Robertson returned to Warsaw to teach 5th grade at Harrison Elementary School with Warsaw Community Schools from 2005-2010 during which time he received his Master’s of Arts in Educational Administration and Supervision from Ball State University (Class of 2009).

Robertson began his administrative career with Goshen Community Schools where he served as principal at Model Elementary School from 2010-2012.  He returned to Warsaw Community Schools in fall of 2012 to serve as principal at Jefferson Elementary School.  In July of 2014, Robertson accepted his current position of Assistant Superintendent/Chief Academic Officer with Warsaw Community Schools.  As Chief Academic Officer, Robertson serves as a member of the Administrative Cabinet.  He is responsible for curriculum and instruction, professional development and supervision of principals and teachers.  Robertson is also a mentor for the Indiana Principal Leadership Institute.  In May, 2018, Robertson received his doctorate in Educational Leadership from Indiana State University (Class of 2018).

Robertson and his wife, Meredith live in Warsaw with their four children, Anna (11), Kathryn (9), Elijah (6), and Alexandra (2).  He enjoys spending time with his family, staying involved in their church, and hunting and fishing.  Robertson is also an avid reader and enjoys books about education and history.   When asked about what he loves most about education, Robertson responded, “I believe it is my role as an educator to inspire students to be all that they were created to be.  I love the chance to make decisions every day that help students pursue their dreams and enrich the lives of others!”
