Alicia Gatewood was a member of Cohort 3. She currently serves as Principal of Brook Park Elementary School in MSD of Lawrence Township. Gatewood is from Fort Wayne and relocated to Indianapolis during the summer of 2017. Before relocating, she worked in East Allen County Schools for 15 years. She is a graduate of Wayne High School and received her bachelor’s degree in English Education from Ball State University in 2002. In 2006, Gatewood received a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne. Alicia and her husband, Adrian live in Lawrence Township with their daughters Ashtyn and Avri. She enjoys spending time with her family and running. She especially enjoys reading historical non-fiction when time allows. When asked about what she loves most about educations, Gatewood said, “I have a passion for at-risk students and feel it is my mission to help them succeed. I am fortunate to be a part of the decision-makers that ensure they are given a chance!”
